Highlights:
- Top Producers: Sample wines from 31 renowned producers from the Western Cape, including Adi Badenhorst from AA Badenhorst Wines, Niels Verberg of Luddite, Peter-Allan Finlayson of Crystallum, and many more.
- Diverse Venues: Tasting stations will be spread across various venues along the main road, from art studios to restaurants and old milking sheds, allowing you to enjoy the winter sunshine and picturesque surroundings as you stroll and taste.
- Weekend Tasting Passport: Purchase a tasting passport that grants you access to all 31 producers for wine tasting and direct interactions with the wine producers. The passport is valid for both days during tasting hours. How you use it is up to you - take it slow over two days or fit in as many as possible on one day.
- Culinary Delights: Local restaurants are part of the Camino and will be open. Also check with the restaurants for special wine inspired gatherings (like wine pairings) that might need additional bookings.
How it works:
- First - decide to venture out for a weekend of wine tasting in the Karoo.
- Second - buy your tickets and book your accommodation.
- Lastly - arrive in Prince Albert and report to the registration and information desk at 57 Church Street, pick up your tasting passport and goodie bag (bag, map, glass and bottle of water).
- Venture off to check in at your accommodation, settle in and then start your Prince Albert wine tasting experience.
- Your passport gives you access to all tasting stations where you will meet the producers. In total there will be more than 100 wines to taste.
- Don't drink wine? No problem! You may still enjoy our town and the vino-vibe by accompanying your friends and partners.
- Walk from one end of town to the other end (while a Karoo-style hop-on-hop-off open-top vehicle will help you along the way). Venues are spread over 4km.
- Most venues will offer something to eat which you can buy from them, so you can sit down and catch your breath, but we do encourage you to book for dinners.
- Check with the venues for any special pairings they might have on the menu.
- Tasting times: Friday from 12pm to 5pm, and Saturday from 11am to 5pm.
- Any other beverages are for your account and can be ordered off the menus from the venues.
