ABOUT

The BoTaki Art Exhibition Launch will be hosted over a two day period with Day 1 (27 July), an event for adults and a family day on Day two (28 July).

Day 1 - 27 July @17h00 to 22h00

The Social Table presents BoTaki, the launch of Lucas Ndala's first art exhibition. Lucas is a Ndebele visual artist from Winterveldt, Pretoria who has mastered the use of paint, pencils, charcoal and other mediums to create his masterpieces. He brings us a collection of some of his best work created over a span of four years, taking us through his interpretation of Covid19, his Dr Esther Mahlangu inspired pieces and his recently acquired use of string art.

Entertainment for the evening:

  1. Alongside the BoTaki exhibition we will showcase the non-profit, Golden Youth Club (GYC), a group of young talented performers who also hail from Winterveldt and have had the privilege to perform their art in Hamburg, Germany over 4 years.
  2. We will be introduced to Ndebele Hip Hop by award winning artist, producer, song writer and performer Rejuvenate Ikosana who creates an African sound known as Ndebele Trap Music.
  3. Our young DJ Deeperholic will bring us to the end of the evening with a mix of South African music ranging from Amapiano, Kwaito and House.

Day 2 - 28 July @ 12h00 - 16h00

This is a day for the whole family and will include a masterclass on Ndebele art hosted by Lucas Ndala as well as African Dance lessons with the Golden Youth Choir. The art created on the day will be exhibited at the venue and your dance skills will be on show for guests to enjoy!! Join us for a day filled with fun, paint art and culture with Lucas Ndala and the GYC.
