ABOUT

Join our craft circle!

Cape Town Craft Club gets creative people in the city together to make stuff in a laid-back, fun and judgement-free space.

Everyone is welcome; from seasoned makers to absolute beginners.

Bring your embroidery kit/knitting project/Copic markers/crochet hooks/whatever creative thing you’re working on and join us at the Slow Fashion Festival from 10 am onwards. This special edition of our craft circle is FREE to attend, but booking is essential. Join any time between 10 am and 4 pm!

We'll be sitting and crafting alongside other makers, in the heart of Twyg's Slow Fashion Festival:

Are you ready to explore how fashion and textiles can help us live in harmony with nature and with each other? Are you interested in the future of a post-fossil fuel fashion and textile industry? Africa Textile Talks 2024, organised between South Africa and Mauritius, presents examples of what this might look like. Listen to experts and makers who practise and explore Earth-kind methods of growing, spinning, weaving, designing, and making. Learn from the growing ecosystems of sustainability, environmental, and circular doers, makers and designers. Help future-fit our communities, and our fashion, craft, and textile industries. Be inspired!

Craft circles are facilitated by Andie Reeves, teacher, textile artist and owner of the Cape Town Craft Club.

Join us to:

  • meet other cool people who craft
  • commit to making time for yourself to be creative
  • make new friends in a low-stakes environment
  • spend time with your friends in a new, fun way
  • get guidance or input on a creative project
  • work amongst others who inspire and encourage you
  • join a community of local makers
  • find an artistic outlet
  • just spend a few hours doing something creative with your hands
