Enkosi Simelane - Cape Town-based Artist
Enkosi Simelane, a Cape Town-based artist, discovered his passion for music through childhood community theater projects in Philippi. Influenced by Epostile choral music and acapella, his artistry thrives on collaboration.
His work as a social worker underscores his music, focusing on empathy, self-compassion, and personal development. His spiritual sound resonates with Afro-soul, encouraging introspection and growth.
Enkosi has performed three live shows, collaborating with artists like Zusiphe Mtsitshe, Zwide Ndwandwe, Kozo Kwane, and Kitso Seti. These experiences have evolved his music from Afro-soul to include jazz elements, reflecting his diverse musical journey since university. Recently, Enkosi has also partnered with theatres like Magnet Theatre to bring musical theatre to children from marginalized backgrounds, fostering artistic collaboration and showing a commitment to ongoing community engagement.
Currently, Enkosi is working on an EP set for release later this year. On his evening, he will showcase songs from the EP, offering audiences a preview of the upcoming project.
