ABOUT

Pam Lunguza was born and raised in Nyanga East, Cape Town. Her love and passion for performing arts started from a very young age while at church and when her late dad would play them his acoustic guitar letting her and her older sister sing along to his favourite tunes. She is studying towards a bachelor's degree in Classical music majoring in jazz voice.   

She is an enthusiastic and passionate musician who is influenced by her daily experiences in her community and surroundings. Her music traces elements of Jazz, Afro-soul, Traditional Music, Gospel, Hip Hop, and R&B Music. She is a 4th-year BMUS student at UCT, a multifaceted musician, and a music lover. She has performed on several stages both locally and internationally. She has traveled to Mauritius and the Reunion Island with the Azania Reggae Band to work with Anthony B, Crosby, Jah Mason, Meta, and others. She also performed at the Cpt Youth Jazz Festival with the band she is part of, the Chapterz and, she is a member of the Cape Town Gospel Festival crew which has taken place in Cape Town annually since 2018.  She is a member of an Afro-fusion jazz band The Chapterz, the Beja Music, the Artworks organization, and recently started her solo venture. 

In August 2022 she performed at the UCT women’s Luncheon with the theme “Yes, trans women are women” hosted by former Vice Chancellor, Prof Mamokgeti Phakeng. In October 2022 she performed a National anthem at the UCT Graduate School of Business. On 10 August 2023, she performed again at the UCT women’s conference. On 23 July 2023, hosted her very first show as an independent artist. On 29 September, had an opportunity to be part of the background voices for The Four Seasons concert which was in honor of the legendary tatu Victor Ntoni and Mam Silvia Mdunyelwa, it featured the great Nomfundo Xaluva, McCoy Mrubata, Victor Masondo, and Bokang Dyer. Also, one of her original songs called The Unfinished Song has been featured in a documentary called Faces of Africa which is not yet out.
