Henk is ’n ervare sielkundige, maar ná die verlies van sy vrou, Nicolene, is hy magteloos om homself te help. Hy kan ook nie deurdring tot sy seun, Renier, nie wat sy pyn agter woede en ontkenning verberg. Tydens Nicolene se begrafnis bieg Henk dat hy destyds die matriek-Wiskundevraestel aan die ganse Barberton uitgelek het. ’n Ondersoek volg en die hele klas van 1990 moet die eksamen herskryf of hul matrieksertifikaat verloor. Henk vra Renier om hom te tutor, maar dit sukkel. En sy ou klasmaats is woedend oor die moeilikheid wat hy veroorsaak het. Dinge ruk hand uit en bring Henk voor ’n onmoontlike keuse te staan.
Henk is an experienced psychologist, but after the loss of his wife, Nicolene, he is powerless to help himself. He also can’t get through to his son, Renier, who hides his pain behind anger and denial. During Nicolene’s funeral, Henk confesses that he had once leaked the matric math exam paper to the entire town of Barberton. An investigation follows, and the whole class of 1990 must either retake the exam or lose their matric certificate. Henk asks Renier to tutor him, but it’s a struggle. His old classmates are furious about the trouble he has caused. Things spiral out of control, forcing Henk to make an impossible choice.
