The Vocal Art Section of the Performing Arts Department at Tshwane University of Technology will present, Mozart’s Coronation Mass at Z.K. MATTHEWS UNISA.

The traditional Mass celebrates Christian beliefs. Mozart’s Coronation Mass, however, because of its victorious and joyful spirit, has through time been used when various kings were crowned, hence its nickname. Mozart’s Coronation Mass has as such seen its fair share of splendour and glory throughout history. Now for the first time, the glorious Holy ambiance given to the work because of its Spiritual origins and the magnificent grandeur lent to it by its association with royal coronations, will be interpreted simultaneously through dance. Don’t miss this extraordinary and uplifting world-first experience.

To add to the rich enjoyment of the evening the second half will feature: ‘Kuhle Kwethu’ (EVERYTHING IS WELL) by the renowned composer Phelelani Mnomiya. The work, originally commissioned in honour of international guests to South Africa, celebrates the diversity unique to our country and the distinctive harmony we as fellow South Africans have managed to create, despite our trouble past.
