Following their dazzling presentation at the Hermanus FynArts Festival in June, VOX Cape Town, in association with Slow Life, presents two evenings of choral music inspired by the splendour of the natural world at the atmospheric Olympia Bakery in Kalk Bay.

For centuries, trees have symbolised growth, strength and individuality – and, most profoundly, the interconnectedness and ephemerality of life. Join VOX for an immersive journey that juxtaposes the natural elements in a musical celebration of our precious biosphere. Revel in Renaissance polyphony, be swept away by melodies composed for the silver screen, delight in captivating musical miniatures by CV Stanford and Mia Makaroff, and resonate with the writings of no fewer than four living South African composers.

VOX Cape Town, under the leadership of John Woodland, is the Mother City’s most imaginative choral collective. Since 2015, this 30-plus ensemble has captivated audiences with its creative programming and innovative performances in unconventional spaces around Cape Town.
