Heat Festival ART: Meet-the-Artists at Christopher Moller

ABOUT

Art Dealers Christopher Moller and Jaco Claasen will host this intimate event at their gallery. After a short introduction to some of the artists showing in their exhibition, Transcending Boundaries, they will guide a walkabout through the exhibition with the artists on hand to talk about their work, motivations and outlook. This presents a unique opportunity to meet artists and find out the stories behind the images. This exhibition was curated for the HEAT Festival and includes nine exceptional artists from South Africa and elsewhere on the African continent. In a world where an ‘us versus them’ mentality is all too prevalent, the exhibition Transcending Boundaries urges viewers to see past surface differences, emphasising our common ground and promoting empathy. The exhibition will showcase artworks by nine artists from different corners of Africa: Ablade Glover, Tony Gum, Olamide Ogunde, Khaya Sineyile, Lionel Mbayiwa, Azuka Muoh, Vanessa Penman, Annamieke Engelbrecht and Sizwe Sama.
