ABOUT
Formed in 2001, Driemanskap is a 3-member crew, made up of members, Ma-B, Redondo and Dla – They have gone
from strength to strength, driving crowds crazy with their high energy, hurricane-like performance.
Driemanskap form the vanguard of the new generation of proudly South African Hip Hop artists who understand
that Hip Hop, more than any other musical art form, is about addressing important issues and representing where
you’re from. They are one of the pioneers of the Spaza movement, representing Cape Town with a rhyme style that
combines their mother tongue, isiXhosa, with English and Cape Flats slang.
In 2005 Driemanskap took part in the Baobab Festival where they opened for the legendary New York Hip-Hop crew
Dead Prez. Anyone who was there that night will tell you that Driemanskap stole the show. In 2006 they were
commissioned to do a soundtrack for SABC 2, Keeping it Real show. In 2012, Driemanskap featured in a global TV
campaign for Reebok. They are also proud brand ambassadors for South African streetwear company, Butan Wear.
One of the hardest working crews in Cape Town, Driemanskap have paid their dues performing all over South
Africa, always taking their music to the people at park jams and community events, as well as major corporate
events and festivals.
Driemanskap takes pride in having shared the stage with some of world’s most prominent performers such as
Simphiwe Dana, Kendric Lamar, iFani, Khuli Chana, Cassper Nyovest, Femi Kuti and Alicia Keys, Dead Prez and United
States based Hip Hop group called Wu Tang Clan just to mention a few. They have also collaborated with South
African music legend Ringo Madlingozi.
