Beltane - which roughly translates as “bright fire” - was a tradition celebrated in various forms as the starting point of summer. It marks the dawn of summer and the end of frost with bonfires, feasting and rituals meant to appease the aos si – fairy folk who are significantly more bloodthirsty than the ones you find in most modern fairytales! It is a pagan celebration of the Great Rite Marriage between the God and the Goddess.

Join us at Rusty Hook on Saturday 26 October from 7pm til late, as we eat, drink and make merry; thrill to the fire acts and displays and dance the night away for a modern interpretation of ancient Beltane festivities, which are focused on all things fire!

ORGANISER: Aiding Simba t/a Paws from Heaven

Aiding Simba facilitates the rehabilitation & safe keeping of homeless, abandoned cats & kittens as well as operating as a establish sanctuary providing a safe haven for old, injured & special need cats.

We are funded entirely by donations through its supporters and from Beltane Fire Festival ticket sales.

We receive no donations from any public funds. Aiding Simba is a not-for-profit registered charity in South Africa. NPO: 202677
