Join us for an extraordinary intimate music experience featuring two amazing musical acts on one night.
Saxophonist Ofentse Moses Sebula is the recent winner of the Yamaha Young Soloist Music Competition 2024. Honoring his roots in Tembisa, Ofentse will perform pieces from his debut album and his latest recordings. From discovering his love for music at age 9, to being mentored by the legendary Jerry Molelekwa, Ofentse’s journey is inspiring. He has shared stages with South African jazz icons and gained international acclaim. Don’t miss this chance to experience the brilliance of a true rising star in jazz.
Simon Manana is a multitalented musician, saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist and composer from Tembisa, South Africa, currently residing in New York City. With a strong musical foundation honed at the prestigious Manhattan School of Music, Simon has had the privilege of sharing the stage with an impressive array of artists including Nduduzo Makhathini, Kendrick Scott, Khaya Mahlangu, Ingrid Jensen (leader of the band Artemis), Marcus Wyatt, Bokani Dyer, Benjamin Jephta and Ndabo Zulu. He has also performed at notable festivals and venues such as the Joy of Jazz, Standard Bank National Arts Festival, and Dizzy's Jazz Club at Lincoln Centre.
Simon is now preparing to record his highly anticipated debut album, which promises to reflect the complexand distorted cultural landscape of his generation in South Africa. With his unique sound and diverse musical influences, Simon is poised to make a significant impact on the global jazz scene.
