Jazz at the Konserve: Ramon Alexander Trio

Ramon Alexander is a pianist and composer who is considered a leading exponent of Cape Jazz and has worked with a variety of artists such as Robbie Jansen, Errol Dyers and McCoy Mrubata. His ensemble has performed at numerous local and international music festivals. He lectures in Jazz Studies at Stellenbosch University and regularly conducts jazz ensemble workshops for youth bands in the Western Cape.

The contemporary sounds of the Cape and the rich tradition of South African jazz are celebrated in this series of concerts. Join the Ramon Alexander Trio, the Katemba Quartet with Schalk Joubert, Muneeb Hermans, Blake Hellaby and Pascal Haas along with exciting new stars such as Melisizwe Plaatjie and the Sun Quintet. Members of the Maties Jazz Society will kick off the concerts. Afterwards take part in a jam session with the artists, so bring along your instrument and make music with us. Special access for students and music students.
