Ateljee-besoeke: Rudolf Gouws

ABOUT

Dié inisiatief gee aan feesgangers toegang tot plaaslike kunstenaars se skeppende ruimte. Deelnemende kunstenaars is op vasgestelde tye in hulle ateljee beskikbaar, terwyl van hulle ook in ateljees op die Blaauwklippen-wynlandgoed gehuisves word. Klim op ’n feesbussie in Ryneveldstraat en besoek die onderstaande ateljees in en om Stellenbosch.

’n Verskeidenheid kunswerke soos portrette en borsbeelde, plus objekte soos musiekinstrumente en diere, word hier in klei geskep en dan by die Stellen­bosch Art Foundry in brons gegiet. Die ateljeebesoek sluit in ’n wandeling in die beeldetuin waar van Rudolf se werk én die van ander kunstenaars ten toon gestel word.

This initiative gives festival-goers access to the creative spaces of local artists. At set times, participating artists are available in their studios. Some of the artists are also housed in studios on the Blaauwklippen Wine Estate. Consult the guide to book a studio visit with your favourite artists. Hop on a park ‘n ride shuttle and visit the studios below across Stellenbosch and surrounds.

Portraits, busts, objects such as musical instruments and animals are created here in clay and then cast in bronze at the Stellenbosch Art Foundry. The studio visit also includes a walk in the sculpture garden, where some of Rudolf’s work and that of other artists are exhibited.
