Join us for a special Mandela Day event on the morning of 18 July at Muizenberg Beach to raise money for Waves For Change!
Mandela Day is a call to action for individuals, communities, and organisations to take time to reflect on Mandela's values and principles and to make a positive impact in their own communities. #MandelaDay2024 #ItIsInYourHands
We're excited to host a beach cleanup guided by Secret Sunrise, a movement that unites the world through music, movement, and connection. Attendees will be given headphones to enhance and add deeper intention to their experience as we work together to clean up the beach.
Event Schedule:
- Beach Cleanup: Guided by Secret Sunrise, enjoy a unique experience while making a positive impact on our environment.
- Swim and Sauna: After the cleanup, brave the ocean waves and warm up with a session in the Hot Huts Mobile Sauna (first 30 adult tickets sold receive a free sauna).
- Refreshments, Raffle & Goodie Bags: Relax and enjoy electrolyte refreshments provided by our sponsor, Revive, as we draw the raffle winners and hand out the goodie bags (for the first 150 adult tickets sold).

WHEN: Thursday 18 July (Mandela Day)
WHERE: Muizenberg Beach, opposite Knead
TIME: 9:30am - 11:30am
BRING: Wear layers of warm, comfy clothes and bring water, swimming costume and towel.
*** Please bring your own bag for the rubbish you collect, let's use what we have!

*Proceeds and Donations: All proceeds from this ticketed event will be donated to Waves for Change, an organisation offering child-friendly mental health services to under-resourced communities through Surf Therapy. Surf Therapy combines the health benefits of surfing and physical activity with activities that help young people build protective relationships, identify emotions, self-soothe, and build a positive future vision.
Family Friendly: This is a family-friendly event, so bring your loved ones and make a day of it.
Upcycling Plastic Waste: The plastic collected during the cleanup will be donated to a local ocean plastic artist, who will upcycle it into beautiful art pieces.
