Jozi Kings and Things’ debut performance is 90 minutes of queer-AF fun, showcasing solo and group acts by Joburg’s drag kings, with special guest drag appearances from some Cape Town kings, as well as some Jozi queens. Performances include lip-syncing, dance, singing, magic, and comedy. Don’t miss this sexy and sensational show, from Joburg’s first ever drag king collective!
The show starts at 8:30pm, but join us from 8pm for drinks and some fun with make-up and photo booths.
Featuring Jozi Kings and Things’ Angelo, Big, Dank Sinatra, Ethan Smoke, Frikkie Dell, Neyitsha Bhoyi, Ntate Lapse, Quinn Qing and Salty Crax. Guest performers: Jozi drag queens Karla Marx and Lolover, and Cape Town drag kings Richard Good and Robyn Reid.

Jozi Kings and Things is a new collective of queer drag artists from Johannesburg, dedicated to exploring, critiquing, and redefining gender through performance. This debut show introduces their unique blend of drag kings and 'things'—genderless, non-binary, or non-human performers—who traditionally occupy the margins of drag culture. Despite being overshadowed by drag queens in popular imagination, Jozi Kings and Things aim to spotlight their performances of masculinity and gender-disobedience. They use these performances to explore queer identities, challenge patriarchal norms, and advocate for freedom. Beyond entertainment, Jozi Kings and Things express solidarity with global struggles for self-determination, highlighting issues from Palestine to Congo and Sudan.
