ABOUT
The Prize Winners Concert of the Western Cape Piano Festival Competition 2024, will feature the Best Pianist and Runner-Up Pianist winners in various age groups, as well as Best JS Bach, Best Sonata, Best Duet or Trio, and for the first time this year, Best Collaborative Performance and Best Chamber Music Performance prizes.
The Best Pianist and Runner-Up Pianist prizes are generously sponsored by International Youth Music Competitions (Atlanta) and Music Matters (Cape Town). Special prizes are sponsored by Shane Goodall Piano Studio, Dr Bertha le Roux, Dr Ronella van Rensburg, Vivo Music, Lucy Norton, and Qden Blaauw.
The piano festival will feature a lovely Shigeru Kawai grand piano which is being expertly prepared and tuned by Ian Burgess-Simpson Pianos. Their contribution is invaluable for a piano festival requiring an outstanding instrument.
A special thanks also to Westerford High School, and their exceptional music department, for the lovely venue and remarkable piano.
