Celebrating his one year anniversary of his memorable Radio Sechaba launch at the Untitled, Bokani is inviting you to join him once again for a unique experience at JHB beloved Jazz basement. After a busy year touring the project around Africa and the world, Bokani will present the current rendition of Radio Sechaba, as well as new material.

Bokani Dyer
Multi award winning artist, acclaimed pianist, composer and producer, Bokani Dyer is relaunching his project, Radio Sechaba at Untitled Basement on the 3rd of August, for his third instalment of his Basement sessions series. Although Dyer has earned acclaim as a solo artist and with his trio, he says Radio Sechaba was the first comprehensive musical expression of his concept of a Nation (Sechaba in seTswana) in this current moment in South Africa .

Radio Sechaba was released through Brownswood Recordings, the independent label founded by DJ and broadcaster Gilles Peterson. The connection to Peterson came when Dyer participated in Indaba Is, a Brownswood Recordings project, recorded in 2020 over five days, outside of Johannesburg. “Brownswood Recordings is the perfect label for Radio Sechaba,” says Dyer, “Gilles is known for being a global tastemaker. To be joining Gilles’ label is a dream come true for me”.
