After more than 130 performances of My Fellow South Africans, and with the May 2024 elections having delivered seismic shifts in our political landscape, the show has evolved into My Fellow Coalition Partners with six new sketches, a few favourites from the original and some sketches with a similar format but different content.
Over the 15 months that it has been performed, My Fellow South Africans collected four awards (Best Solo Performance X2), Best Script and a Bronze Ovation Award at the recent National Arts Festival in Makhanda. The highly talented Kim Blanche Adonis continues to perform My Fellow Coalition Partners.
As per its name, the show picks up on themes related to the Government of National Unity and provides satirical commentary on these themes, even within a sentiment of hope for what the GNU offers.
The three performances at Cedar House in Kenilworth on 29, 30 and 31 July will be the first time that the new show is performed for an audience, and these shows are aimed particularly at people who saw the previous show, to solicit their feedback.
