ABOUT
The South African Jewish Museum proudly presents Chanteuse Internationale Adrienne Haan in Tehorah
Tehorah, which means pure in Hebrew, is a poetic musical portrait about love, loss, hope and forgiveness. This one-woman tour-deforce contains German, Yiddish and Hebrew songs, composed and written exclusively by Jewish composers and lyricists. Tehorah is a musical journey through the turbulent times of the Weimar Republic to the Lódz Ghetto all the way to Israel.
First performed at Carnegie Hall in 2015 with an encore performance at the same venue in 2023 celebrating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the State of Israel under patronage of the German and Israeli Ambassadors to the United Nations and Rabbi Arthur Schneier of Park East Synagogue in NYC, Chanteuse Internationale Adrienne Haan is proud to premiere Tehorah in the Old Shul building at the South African Jewish Museum in Cape Town, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the end of the Holocaust.
Written and directed by Adrienne Haan
In collaboration with the South African Jewish Museum, Cape Town Holocaust and Genocide Center and CT Concerts.
Under patronage of the German Consulate General in Cape Town.
