GA SAAO Day Tours

ABOUT

Experience the wonders of the GA SAAO Day Tours from August 6th to 15th, 2024. Each tour begins with an introduction to the observatory, followed by an exciting exploration of the historic McClean telescope, the observatory museum, the library, and our brand-new Visitor's Centre.

Day tours: Fully guided by our tour guides.

People per tour: 25

Sessions: 10am - 12pm, and 2pm - 4pm.

Fee: R50 per person

Children under 6: Free

Tour fees go towards the SAAO’s education, public outreach, and socio-economic development programs. Tour bookings must be paid in advance – no payments will be accepted on-site.

This is a secure site and all other buildings are off-limits to the public.
