Bridge Books and MuseumHer present a day of literature celebrating African Fiction with authors Mandisi Nkomo, Nedine Moonsamy and Tariro Ndoro hosted on PecanBerry Farm.
Join us as we immerse ourselves in tales of wondrous imagination, get to know the authors and perhaps pick up a book or two from the Bridge Books pop up stand, all while enjoying delicious snacks from our garden surrounded by nature.

About the authors
Mandisi Nkomo is a South African writer, drummer, composer, and music producer. He currently resides in Hartbeespoort, South Africa.
His fiction has been published in the likes of Afrosf: Science Fiction by African Writers, Omenana, The Big Book of Cyberpunk, and The Best of World SF Volume 3. His poetry has been published in #The Coinage Book One, and Shoreline of Infinity and his academic work has been published in The Thinker. His works have been longlisted for the Nommo Award for African Speculative Fiction. He has been shortlisted for Toyin Falola Short Story Prize. He is also a member of the African Speculative Fiction Society.

Nedine Moonsamy is an associate professor in the English department at the University of Johannesburg. She is currently writing a monograph on contemporary South African Fiction and otherwise conducts research on science fiction in Africa. Her debut novel, The Unfamous Five (Modjaji Books, 2019) was shortlisted for the HSS Fiction Award (2021), and her poetry was shortlisted for the inaugural New Contrast National Poetry Award (2021).

Tariro Ndoro is a genre-bending Zimbabwean writer of short fiction and poetry. Her debut poetry collection, Agringada: Like a Gringa, Like a Foreigner (Modjaji Books, 2019) was the recipient of a National Arts Merit Award for Outstanding Poetry Book, and her most recent novel manuscript was longlisted for the 2023 James Currey Prize for African Literature. Tariro was a Spring ’22 Fellow of the International Writing Program and a participant in the University of Johannesburg’s inaugural JIAS Writing Workshop.
