Pinno Nduna

ABOUT

Sandiso Nduna, popularly known as Pinno Nduna in the music circles is a singer songwriter from  Gugulethu in Cape Town. Coming from a musical family, his interest in music started back in primary  school, as he was part of the school choir for most of his primary school years. 

Growing up in the church environment and having worked with various acappella ensembles, from  around 2009 to 2012 he cofounded two ensembles for mentoring & to also develop his song writing  skills. With the male quintet they ventured outside gospel music, doing covers from the likes of Bra  Hugh Masekela, soulful sounds local and abroadl like Loyd Cele & Loyiso Bala to mention a few, which  was around 2012. He was instrumental in the creative front citing projects such as writing and recording  jingles for Metro FM.  

From sharing stages with iconic Artists like Bra Sipho Hotstix Mabuse, gigging at joints like the  Kaleidoscope Jazz Café in Claremont run by Glen Robertson, most of his musical journey was spent  pushing various types of acappella music. He went solo after his last acappella gig in 2015, where his all  male ensemble were 2nd runners up representing Cape Town at the SA SingOff, an acappella competition  hosted by SABC TV at the Soweto Theatre.  

In creating his sound, Pinno fuses a touch of local traditional sounds with a bit of township flavor, blending it with his general love for love songs. He’s got an undying love soulful sounds adding a touch  of harmonies which can be heard in most of his music. A fresh sound that he takes time in crating, to  ensure he offers an authentic version of his musical self.
