Effective Contracting (Treatment & Payment Consent)

This webinar series will guide the health care professional (HCP) a better understanding of the legal requirements in obtaining informed treatment and informed payment consent.

This webinar series will further assist the delegates to draw up or adapt their existing consent forms that adheres to minimum consent requirements.

Other basic terms and conditions that should be included in the patient contract (such arrangements of appointments not kept, POPIA & confidentiality clauses, communicating with the practice, etc) will also be discussed.

As part of this workshop, delegates will also receive copies of standardised informed treatment consent and informed billing(payment) consent contracts, as well as a POPIA clause to use in their contracts*

These contracts can be used as a template to design or adapt your own contracts.

This workshop will be presented by Annelie van der Westhuyzen, owner of Ethics Simplified.

Annelie is a Speech therapist with a Masters Degree in Bioethics and Health Law. For the past 12 years she has been presenting workshops across the country on all aspects relating to Ethics, HPCSA matters, as well as legislation affecting health care professionals.

She is also a part time lecturer and clinical educator at the Speech- Language and Hearing therapy division at Stellenbosch University
