Johannesburg Community - join us for Founder Day on 16 August 2024! This full-day, high-energy, high-value masterclass event is purposefully curated to help you scale your tech startup in South Africa.

We kick off the day with three seasoned founders discussing the lessons that they "wish they knew" earlier in their startup journeys. Featuring: Thomas Brennan (Franc), Ntsako Mgiba (The Delta, Yoco, Jonga) and Sbusiso Buna (Jobox).
Legals Masterclass
Presented by Adrian Dommisse of Dommisse Attorneys, one of South Africa's leading tech and venture capital law firms, supporting clients like Getsmarter, Snap Scan, Yuppie Chef, Offerzen, Knife Capital and Newtown Partners. Adrian has a background in law and investment banking and most recently established the "IP Incubator" program to help founders attract offshore funding.

Design and UX Masterclass
Presented by Natalie de Canha of MakeReign, the country's most-award specialist UX/UI agency at the Bookmarks, entrusted with driving digital design for ventures like Pineapple Insurance, Kudu Bank and Float. Natalie is the Creative Group Head at MakeReign and a specialist in research and design thinking, wireframing, prototyping and UI design.
Building Product Masterclass
Presented by Harley Ferguson Origen, the bespoke software development agency helping founders build, startups grow and corporates innovate. Origen has supported clients like MTN, Barz, BlooMoney and more, whilst Harley is also the founder of The 10X Developer, a newsletter read by ~60K developers globally.

Marketing Masterclass
Presented by Heidi Patmore of Manjaro Marketing, the marketing consultancy specialising in helping tech startups go-to market and scale, with clients including Kena Health, Healthforce, ALX, Minit Money and Paycode. Heidi holds qualifications from the University of Johannesburg and AAA School of Advertising and is passionate about technology that is changing the world and consumer behaviour.
Sales & GTM Masterclass
Presented by Keith Jones of SW7, Africa’s leading virtual GTM accelerator platform that has supported over 300 B2B tech businesses and serves as the GTM partner for AWS. Keith has over 30 years’ experience in the tech sector and alongside his wife, Odette, built Africa's first startup accelerator in 2013. His passion is growing product-led technology businesses.

Product-Market Fit Masterclass
Presented by Malanee Hutton of Founders Factory Africa, the pan-African investor and accelerator backing transformative early-stage ventures like Floatpays, Zindi, TUNL and Tripplo. Malanee has over 15 years experience in the banking industry and now serves as the Director of Venture Design at FFA. She is a strategic thinker, passionate about using human cantered techniques to solve complex problems.
Fundraising Masterclass
Presented by Blake Musgrove of simple.Capital, the end-to-end corporate finance firm assisting founders through capital raising and allowing them to focus on building, with a portfolio of clients including SweepSouth, Yebo Fresh, CarScan and Qwili. Blake is a qualified CA(SA) and CFA Blake is a qualified CA(SA) and CFA, with experience at Investec, Ninety One and several family offices.

Arrival
Check-in opens at 08:00am, with our program starting promptly at 09:00am. We reserve the right to admit late-comers until intermission, out of courtesy for fellow attendees.
Parking
Available on-site. "The Tryst" is a professional eventing venue, located within Woodlands Office Park (next to The Gym). Security will direct you on arrival. We recommend using ride-sharing if/where possible.
Food and Drinks
Your ticket includes a light lunch and snacks (note the onus is on you to advise us of any dietary requirements at least 72 hours in advance - please email [email protected]). Otherwise, a limited selecton drinks will be available for purchase at the venue. Rest assured, you won't go hungry!

Tickets are required for admission and do not include a plus-one. We regret no walk-ins on the day.
Attendance is capped. Once we have reached capacity, please email us at [email protected] and we will revert should space become available.
Tickets are not refundable, but transferrable up to 36 hours before the event (5pm, 14 August). To transfer your ticket, follow these instructions, or notify us via email and include the name/surname/email address of your replacement.
IMPORTANT - Kindly take note that this is a catered event with limited seating. Accordingly - in order to grow a good attendance culture - "no shows" without prior notice may be excluded from future events.
