ABOUT
Hippies from all corners of the country will gather at Barrydale’s Karoo Saloon this weekend for what should again be a groovy two days of good vibes and great music.
This year’s Karoostock takes place from September 28 to 29.
We will see bohemian lovechild Jeandré Swanepoel and Karel Bester join rock legends Akkedis, seventies specialists Crowfoot and the local "jukebox" legend and wine maker Henry Conradie as they relive those days when social change was brought about through song.
On Saturday 28 September you will get to see South African bands pay tribute to the greats, you will get to hear classic songs from the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain and many more as the Karoo Saloon hosts the annual KAROOSTOCK party.
Sunday 29 September will be a Woodstock revival party with bands performing songs from Woodstock legends. you will get to hear musicians performing their favorite songs from Rolling Stones, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Creedence, The Who and many more.
THE CAMPING
Karoo Saloon has some areas of soft, luscious lawn perfect for pitching tents. If your timing is good, there are also quite a few good spots for morning shade up for grabs. On site is the concert venue with an outdoor stage, a 24-hour ablution block, and the Rock Roadhouse which is a pub, resturaunt and live music venue. Plan your meals though, since the kitchen does close eventually and people tend to lose track of time under the Karoo night sky. For the daylight hours, there is a nicely sized dipping pool with freshly pumped ground water to cool off.
OTHER ACCOMMODATION
There are many off-site accommodation options for non-campers in Barrydale (10km) and/or the immediate surrounding areas filled with rural charm.
We hope to see all you old school hippies, rockers and revelers on the 28th of September at the Karoo Saloon R62 Rock Roadhouse. Pack your favorite flower power outfit and join us as we celebrate great vibes and great music.
No Fires allowed except in fire-pits.
No own alcohol in event area or in bar.
The Karoo Saloon has a great rock 'n roll bar and restaurant, it would be appreciated if you support the venue.
