Visiting from Nashville, South African singer/Songwriter Roan Ash is doing an intimate solo acoustic show here in Wilderness. Roan recently got signed by Warner Music Nashville and will also be seen on stage with "Goo Goo Dolls" later this year.

"Roan is a Country-rock poet with a border crossing sound, who’s only true allegiance is to the North Star of lyrical truth. With his emotionally charged songwriting, there’s no formula for success, no secret plan designed to corner a segment of the market. Just a deep-thinking guitar slinger committed to universal honesty. Learning a few guitar chords from an older sister, he grew up inspired by lyrical masters like Kris Kristofferson and Don Williams, then added admiration for Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, John Mayer and more as a teen. Ash released his first independent album, The Traveller, in 2014, followed by 2018’s Whiskey to My Soul, where he found his creative mark. Ash was featured by Apple Music as one of just five international artists on its high-profile Country Wide playlist and his bluesy, slow-burning passion, “Whiskey to My Soul” racked up more than 23 million streams on Spotify alone. Capturing love like a religious experience, “If I Ever Saw Heaven” followed suit, landing Ash TV appearances and more top playlist placements – and eventually even spawning a series of electronic dance remixes, to further cement his genre-hopping bonafides. Finding a natural home for his writing in Nashville, Ash went on to appear at the 2019 CMA Fest, previewing the honest and energetic live shows to come. And now, as he writes with Music City’s brightest collaborators and prepares for his first major label release, he’s following the same formula as ever: a lack thereof. No master plan. Just honest, straight from-the-heart music. Because for Ash, music isn’t business. It’s about following your heart, inviting people in and letting the wind take you where it will."
