Caroline from Jem:
Caroline van der Merwe is the Co-Founder and COO of Jem, an HR Technology startup focused on digitising HR for frontline workers through WhatsApp. She is passionate about digital inclusion and using technology for impact. Before starting Jem, she spent eight years building employee engagement and behaviour-change programmes for businesses across sub-saharan Africa. At Jem, she leads the product development and operations teams, creating innovative products for HR teams. Caroline holds an MBA from UCT Graduate School of Business and a Masters in Management from Yale University.
Jem connects employers with their employees via WhatsApp. We digitize HR workflows for employers, and give employees access to critical HR and benefits services digitally.
Roger Norton from OkHi
Roger iscurrently the Chief Product Officer at OkHi, he was previously Head of Product at Founders Factory Africa. Prior to that he was the the co-founder and COO of Trixta after it acquired his startup studio Playlogix where as CEO they developed over 50 tech products in just 5 years. Roger's passion for empowering entrepreneurs led him to author 'Start Here,' a book on building startups, and write regularly on Medium about startups and Product. Highly optimistic about the burgeoning African, specifically his local Cape Town startup ecosystem, he's served as a mentor at various accelerators and incubators and made strategic angel investments.
