IMASA Basic Endodontic Refresher Workshop


The Islamic Medical Association in collaboration with Dr Ebrahim Patel and Wright Millners, proudly presents a full day Basic endodontics refresher workshop. The dayoffers general dental practitioners an opportunity to revise fundamental concepts in access cavity preparation while benefiting from advances in rotary file technology for minimally invasive canal preparation.


The workshop is designed as a blended theoretical offering with hands-on practical guidance through the following topics:

1.       Minimally invasive access cavities

2.       Tooth guided canal location

3.       Zarc Rotary instrumentation for canal preparation

4.       Cleansing the root canal system (solutions vs technology)


More about the presenter:

Dr Ebrahim Patel is well known for his unique methods of endodontic training. His mission is to upgrade the endodontic offering of private and public clinics in South Africa, as he believes that South African clinicians are exceptional, and a critical influence in the communities they serve.

Dr Patel has experience in both undergraduate and postgraduate training at Wits University and is currently the clinical manager of the Wits Dental Hospital. He is also an endodontic consultant at the Thinc Clinic in Johannesburg which strives to offer their patients the finest dentistry has to offer delivered by a world class dental team. Dr Patels efforts to improve the science of oral health has seen the publication of his research both locally and internationally while being constantly sought after to address oral health professionals at workshops and conferences globally.


For maximum benefit, we request that you bring along:

1.       Any premolar and molar tooth which has fully formed apices, and not previously accessed for endodontic treatment. You may bring along as many teeth as you’d like.

2.       A dental mirror and explorer.

3.       An open mind and lots of energy
