ABOUT

STEP UP YOUR GAME

A supplementary sports offering for Primary School children, 10 - 13 years of age.

Sessions will cost R80/session, with 6 session throughout the term - R480 for the term.

First session on Monday, 14 October 2024



HOCKEY

Coach Kobus will be taking a group of Max 12, Min 5, for a one hour session. Sessions will be aimed at practicing of the basics, specific drills to practice the basics and techniques correction. Every session will also have an element of match simulation where movement and tactics will also be discussed and practiced.

Sessions will be on Mondays, 16h00 - 17h00, with the option of a second session on Thursdays if there is enough interest.


RUGBY

Under the guidance of Coach Ruben (Curro U8 and U13), these session will be focusing on ball handling and game play. Groups will be limited to a Max 20, Min 8, for the one hour session. Sessions will not have a contact element, but we will make use of "Tag Belts" to play tag-rugby with the students. We will also have a fitness element in each session, to ensure all participants stay ready for the next season!

Sessions will be Tuesdays, 16h00 - 17h00.


FUNCTIONAL FITNESS

Coach Tanya (qualified fitness instructor and personal trainer) will be taking a group of Max 15, min 6, for a one hour session of fitness. These session will have a mix of aerobic and bodyweight training, with an element of cross-fit and other popular workout regimes, designed to improve overall fitness and conditioning of learners.

Session will be on Wednesdays, 16h00-17h00.

  • These sessions are not exclusive to Curro Hermanus learners and students from other school will be welcome to sign up and attend.
  • Children need to be between 10 and 13 ( Grade 4 - 7) of age in order to take part.
  • Dusty Feet will be renting the facilities as an outside service provider, and thus the school takes no other part in the offering.
  • We have allocated 6 weeks for the activities out of the 7 week term, in case of cancellation due to weather.
  • Sessions missed by individual learners will not be caught up privately.
  • Sessions will start on Monday, 14 October 2024.
  • Activities have Minimum and Maximum numbers to ensure viability and quality of the sessions.
  • If you have booked, and the minimum number has not been reached, the session will be cancelled by the service provider and you will receive a refund.
  • All participants will be taking part at OWN RISK, and Dusty Feet, its employees and instructors, Curro Holding and/or Curro Hermanus will not be held liable for any loss or injury during these activities.
