Nick Ford is a Cape Town based bassist and composer in the jazz and contemporary creative South African music scene. Since 2019 Ford has been making a name for himself as one of South Africa's up-and-coming performers and artists. As a bassist he has performed with legends such as Mark Fransman, Sibusiso Mashiloane, Bokani Dyer, Afrika Mkhize and Kyle Shepherd, and he has toured internationally with the world tour of the hit Queen musical "We Will Rock You", and nationally with "MAMMA MIA!". As an artist Ford has been releasing original music since he was in 17 and is now leading up to the release of his first full length album "Terra Solus", which is set to release in early 2025. Terra Solus is a creative endeavour by Ford which explores themes of time, continuity and our connection to the natural world through a unique and innovative impressionist-tinged South African jazz style.
