H2A VISA JOBS FAIR

Did you know?

·       Every year about 11 000 South Africans work, for between six and nine months, on a farm in the USA - receiving in excess of R500 000.

Key feature

·       The travel and visa application costs are generally re-imbursed by the employer.

·       For those who cannot afford the initial outlay, a limited number of bursaries will be made available to qualifying individuals.

·       An on-line soft skills training module on living and working in the USA is made available by the University of the Free State.

·       Although an agricultural background will be an advantage, no specific skills are required.

·       These South Africans come back with a wealth of experience on farming and living in the USA, enabling them to add value to their own communities through the skills they have acquired.

How to get involved

An H2A Visa Jobs Fair will be hosted at Elsenburg. You can attend either the 09:00 or 14:00 session on 30 September 2024. 

You will be able to engage with:

·       The President of the SA Chamber of Commerce in the USA.

·       An agent representing recruiting farmers in the USA.

·       A former participant in the initiative.

·       Various recruiters from South Africa, with a range of offers.

·       Casidra (the bursary provider).

·       The University of the Free State on their voluntary soft skills module.
