Engaging Gen Z
This year's theme looks at Gen Z. The first generation to grow up in a fully digital age, which has influenced their beliefs, behaviours, and needs significantly.
Youth workers who minister to Gen Z should consider that this generation, as digital natives, is highly proficient with technology but struggles with digital distractions and prefers visual
content. They value authenticity and transparency, making genuine relationships essential for effective ministry. Raised in a diverse and inclusive world, they care deeply about social justice
and mental health, so youth workers should address these concerns thoughtfully and biblically. Gen Z seeks purpose and impact over traditional paths, necessitating guidance toward
discovering their God-given purpose. Additionally, they often lack biblical literacy and may be sceptical of faith, so pastors must provide solid teaching and create safe spaces for questions.
Engaging them requires interactive and dynamic methods, and fostering a sense of community is crucial, as they crave real connections despite digital connectivity.
