ABOUT

Zolani Mahola and Sibahle Sky Dladla join forces for a truly special and immersive experience, combining their musical talents to present a sound bath designed to heal and uplift. This unique collaboration is a highlight of Zolani’s band, The Feminine Force, where she and Sky create a powerful sonic journey rooted in African rhythms and spirituality. Zolani Mahola, renowned for her time as the lead singer of Freshlyground, is a celebrated South African artist whose music has touched hearts across the world. With Freshlyground, Zolani performed on global stages, released seven albums, and became a symbol of unity in post-apartheid South Africa. Now performing under the name The One Who Sings, Zolani continues her artistry with a deep connection to nature and social impact. She is an ambassador for the Seachange Project and an award-winning storyteller, with her Tribeca Festival-winning podcast Back To The Water exploring the relationship between South Africans and their coastlines. Her critically acclaimed debut solo album Thetha Mama earned the 2022 South African Music Award for "Best Produced Album," and she is currently working on a follow-up album with her band, The Feminine Force. Sibahle Sky Dladla, hailing from Gugulethu, Cape Town, is a master of traditional African instruments, particularly the marimba. With over a decade of experience, Sky has performed and taught African music at various institutions, from Bishops Diocesan College to Herschel Girls School. Her band, Blackroots Marimbas, has made its mark in the African music scene, and Sky herself has traveled internationally to share her talents. She has taken part in various festivals and residencies, including the prestigious Nirox Phenomenal Women Concert and Msaki’s Embo Time Travel Experiment. Together, Zolani and Sky have toured globally, performing at major festivals like Bushfire Festival, WOMAD Festival, and Greenpop Reforest Festival. Now, they unite for this special sound bath performance—a collaborative effort that brings their unique musical styles together for a transformative, healing experience. Don’t miss the opportunity to witness these two exceptional musicians creating magic on stage as they blend sound healing with the rich traditions of African music.
