Unisa Music 130th Anniversary Concert
Join us in celebrating 130 years of musical excellence at Unisa! This Gala Concert will take place on 30 November 2024 at 6:00 pm in the ZK Matthews Great Hall and will showcase the extraordinary talent and rich legacy of Unisa’s music programmes. Featuring some of our most prestigious alumni and laureates, the concert will highlight a diverse range of African, jazz, and classical music genres.

First Half
- Theo van Wyk (Organ)
- Ndabo Zulu (Jazz Trumpet) with Thando Zide (Jazz Vocals) and the Moya Collective
- Magdalena de Vries (Marimba)
- Cara Stacy (Uhadi Bow) and Keenan Ahrends (Guitar)
- Jazz Ensemble: Melvin Peters (Piano), Marc Duby (Bass), Rob Watson (Drums), and Mageshen Naidoo (Guitar)
Second Half
The Johannesburg Festival Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Brandon Phillips, featuring:
- Thembinkosi Magagula (Soprano), Mozart and Donizetti
- Zanta Hofmeyr (Violin), Beethoven Violin Concerto, 3rd Movement
- Francois du Toit (Piano), Schumann Piano Concerto, 1st Movement
- Musa Nkuna (Tenor), Mozart and Donizetti
