Come be inspired and fill your hope-tank by what God is doing in the broken places of our city. Show support and solidarity for both PBC folk and friends of our church who are bringing light into darkness.
This is a gathering of urban ministries and folks within the church community of Pinelands Baptist involved in urban ministry. Food and coffee will be on sale.
What is 'urban ministry'? A broad term to capture the work of people who are leaders or catalysts in their community (but not necessarily "full time ministers/pastors") who care for and influence their community in some way. Community is not limited to people living in a geographical area, it could be a group of people who are held together by a commonly shared activity, concern, or passion. These folks are trying to join God in His mission of bringing God’s kingdom here on earth, are probably asking the question "what is God doing in my neighbourhood or city?" and not just asking "what is God doing in my church?" They consider "action" or "service" a sacrament or act of worship . They infuse their service/work with spirituality, over infusing their spirituality with service. These are people who are gifted at embodying the gospel practically, possibly more than preaching the gospel in words.
If you are curious to meet such people and hear stories along these lines then come along to this celebration. This event is part of the greater series of Pinelands Baptist celebrating 75 years, and will be hosted by two ministries of this church - Lerato's Hope and Mercy & Justice.
