Johannesburg Bach Choir 60th Anniversary Gala Concert
Sun Nov 17, 16:00 - Sun Nov 17, 17:00
The Chapel, St John's College
ABOUT
On 1 September 1964 the Johannesburg Bach Choir held its first concert under the baton of its first musical director, the late Tony Fell.
This year the choir is celebrating its 60th anniversary with a gala concert on 17 November at 4 pm at The Chapel, St John’s College, Houghton. You are cordially invited to join us in celebrating this very special occasion.
We'll be singing JS Bach’s wonderful Cantata No 140 (“Wauchet auf, ruft uns die Stimme”) and Antonio Vivaldi's “Gloria”, one of his most popular and well-known works. The choir will be conducted by its music director, Tim Roberts, and accompanied by the Apple Green Orchestra with Ruth Coggin on the organ.
Complimentary refreshments will be served after the concert and a cash bar will also be available.
