ABOUT
Bring your friends & family for an evening of "Stargazing with Vic's Telescopes". You'll enjoy stargazing through a powerful telescope under the dark sky at Casalinga in Muldersdrift. The event starts a 6:30pm, come enjoy a drink or meal before or afterwards at Casalinga's restaurant. Take-aways will also be available if you'd like to have a picnic under the stars.
Your guide, Vicus Cruywagen, is a telescope maker and avid observer of the night sky. He will first give a brief talk about the universe and the objects you’ll be observing. Then you'll get a chance to observe a number of celestial objects through a powerful telescope.
On the menu:
> The Moon - observed through a telescope, it's unlike anything you've seen
> Venus
> Saturn - you'll even see its rings!
> Double Stars
> Star Clusters
* Our eyes have to get accustomed to the dark sky in order to spot the stars, so please refrain from using white lights/torches - you may use RED lights/torches.
* Dress warmly - it can still get quite cold at night, especially an hour-and-a-half in the open!
* IMPORTANT: Bring a camping chair along for each person in your party. Picnic blankets welcome. NO food or drinks may be brought onto the premises - you may purchase from the restaurant (take-aways will be available)
Duration: 60 - 90minutes, depending on the number of attendees.
A limited number of people can be accommodated, so tickets are only available beforehand from Quicket.
> If the event has to be cancelled because of bad weather, you will be refunded <
