ABOUT
Waves for Change delivers nearly 100,000 individual surf therapy sessions every year. Each child joins us for a #session once a week, over 40 weeks, for free!
Participants are referred from under-resourced communities where 9 out of ten people who need access to mental health services are unable to get it.
This October we are celebrating World Mental Health and are inviting to be part of our VILLAGE by supporting our comedy night.
The Comedy Night is an opportunity for the public to experience a Laugh for Change with some of South Africa's finest comedians:

Why Surf Therapy?
- Children in our communities face 8 traumatic situations annually.
- Yet, 9 out of 10 kids in South Africa can't access the mental health support they need.
- Without support, repeated trauma can lead to toxic stress and lasting damage putting kids at risk of developing anxiety, depression, and substance misuse.
