ABOUT

THE BLACK BEAR BAND IS BACK WITH THE STORY OF AMERICAN MUSIC!

South Africa, Riebeek Kasteel, November 2024:

From Bruce Springsteen to Johnny Cash, Kenny Rogers to John Lee Hooker, Elvis Presley, JJ Cale, The Eagles, Chris Stapleton, and The Band … the music of all these and more is brought to life in the rollicking story of American music retold for one night only, in the Swartland town of Riebeek Kasteel.

NashVegas, the event is back by popular demand for its third run. This time, however, there’s an extra reason for an epic party. Renowned host venue – The Barn restaurant – celebrates its fifth anniversary! NashVegas 3 is a celebration of the Man in Black, Johnny Cash and his unforgettable contribution to American Music.

In unravelling its own inspiration, The Black Bear Band takes the audience from the swamps of the Mississippi Delta to the juke joints of Memphis, the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, to the folk explosion of Upstate New York.

The whole shebang is an open-air show (weather permitting) and takes place at The Barn on Saturday, November 2. Just 80 tickets are available for sale. Picture long-tables, strings of festive lighting and the magical backdrop of one of South Africa’s most scenic villages.

The show was inspired by singer-songwriter Craig Banks’ visits to Nashville and a supergroup of Cape Town musicians will keep you enthralled. In addition to Banks, the band comprises Wayne Pauli, David Goldberg, Malcolm Aberdeen, and Damian Staz, who have amassed 40 years of playing and interpreting the music they love.

The evening gets underway at 18:30. Specials on food and drink will be advertised on The Barn’s social media channels (see below).

Seating will be provided at long-tables, with the valley vistas as backdrop to what promises to be a spectacular evening.
