ABOUT

Anyone who knows me, knows I have 2 passions: my job, and running. As a doctor who loves to help people and loves to run, I couldn't think of a better way to combine the two in this challenge. Join me in helping to raise money for two amazing institutions: Mowbray Maternity Hospital and Liv2Run.

I will be taking part in the Desert Ultra by Beyond the Ultimate in November 2024. This is a self sufficient 5-day stage self race over 250km in the Namibian Desert. I will be running with all my own food and equipment in extreme temperatures and am aiming to raise as much money as possible to support these extraordinary organisations.

Mowbray Maternity Hospital in Cape Town, is a secondary level hospital where over 1000 babies are born each month, despite limited resources. This is a hospital where I trained as a medical student and while specialising in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

LIV2Run is a NPO that aims to "restore, raise & release athletes within disadvantaged communities across South Africa". This is an offshoot of LIV, which was founded to look after orphaned and vulnerable children. LIV2Run gives young runners the opportunity to be trained and compete in the running world and makes opportunities available to them that they would otherwise not be exposed to.
