Inspired by Hildegard von Bingen's visionary work and Princess Magogo ka Dinizulu's enchanting songs, "O Fire of the Spirit" unites renowned musicians Bongiwe Nakani, the Kirby Quartet, and Siyolise Nyondo. Special guest Sandra Prinsloo, South Africa's legendary actress, lends her iconic voice as narrator, guiding the audience through a poignant celebration of unity and transformation. The celebration features the world premiere of Braam du Toit's "My Blessing" alongside works by Lusibalwethu Sesanti and John Tavener, embracing themes of spiritual illumination, transformation, and harmony.
This unforgettable performance marks the first installment of a twin concert series, paving the way for the reopening of Goodnow Hall in Wellington, scheduled for early 2025. As we ignite the spirit of unity and transformation, we eagerly anticipate the next chapter of this musical journey, coming together again at the restored Goodnow Hall to celebrate the power of music and community.
