ABOUT

Alfred Rowing Club has been a beloved part of Cape Town’s history, bringing together generations of rowers who share a passion for the water, teamwork, and perseverance. This milestone is not just about the years we've rowed, but the friendships we've built and the memories we've created along the way.

As we gather to celebrate this special anniversary, we reflect on the incredible journey that has brought us here and look forward to many more adventures ahead. Whether you’re a current member, a former rower, or a friend of the club, we invite you to be a part of this memorable occasion.

Our guest speaker is Viv James, a resident of Zeekoevlei, who will give a talk on the voyage of the Endurance to Antarctica in 1914/15/16.

His father served under Sir Ernest Shackleton on the voyage which ended with the ship being caught in the ice pack and sinking.

Let’s come together to honour our past and inspire the future of rowing in Cape Town.
