ABOUT
Callum Hitchcock is an award-winning comedian with roots in the Eastern Cape, now making his mark on the Cape Town scene. His casual confidence and self-deprecating style have left audiences in stitches nationwide throughout his relatively short career.
Hitchcock won the title of ‘Newcomer of the Year’ at the 2024 Savanna Comics’ Choice Awards—a prize previously won by industry heavyweights such as Yaaseen Barnes, Schalk Bezuidenhout and Dillan Oliphant—and has taken shows to the National Arts Festival in 2022, 2023 and 2024 to positive reviews.
You may have seen him performing his off-beat comedy on Comedy Central’s ‘Savanna Comedy Bar’ or giving his take on current affairs while doing the Comedy Report on eTV’s ‘The Last Word with Shahan Ramkissoon’.
In his debut show, Callum shares how his upbringing shaped his cultural identity in South Africa, and gives his take on life and love with several embarrassing existential breakdowns thrown in for good measure.
