We look forward to welcoming you to Ascendance - A home for friendship, afro-electronic music and elated dance. Presented by custodians of Afro House/Tech and rhythms from across the motherland.


Curated for the celebration of friendship and the revitalisation of the dance floor, we present our humble beginnings and launch party.

&Clyde

Clyde Mandibvenyi — professionally known as Clyde Mandie - is an Electronic-Afro-Fusion Producer, hailing from Harare, Zimbabwe. Having made Cape Town his home for the last few years, Clyde is currently exploring the sounds of his Shona culture roots along with modern electronic music. His passion, through music, is to empower people, especially youth through the creative arts. Where there is art, there is harmony.


Nwabzin

Nwabisa Nkohla is a Cape Town based DJ, MC, and public speaker better known by her stage name DJ Nwabzin. DJ Nwabzin’ s love for music started at a tender age with a heavy influence of music from the late 90’s to early 2000’s. She has a specialsed interest in afro beats, kwaito, private piano and old school vibes. She creates unique nostalgic experiences whilst keeping a balance of current trends in educating her audience on new sounds and experiences. DJ Nwabzin’ s personal brand is one deeply rooted in using her abilities to affect positive change. The intention is to use her voice, gender, skills set and platforms to rewrite what the future looks like for females, most importantly, leave a sparkle of light wherever she goes.


DJ Twoburner

Also known for his electrifying sets as AfroTech DJ and 3Step Vibe, DJ Two Burner, is a dynamic force in the realm of electronic Afro sounds. With an innate ability to blend traditional African rhythms with contemporary electronic beats, he creates a musical experience that transcends boundaries and ignites dance floors worldwide. Hailing from Eastern Cape PE and Cape Town, DJ Two Burner's journey into the world of music began at a young age, influenced by the vibrant sounds of his cultural heritage and the pulsating energy of electronic music. Drawing inspiration from Afrotech legends and electronic pioneers alike Black Coffee, Shimza and many more, he has crafted a unique sonic identity that resonates with audiences across diverse backgrounds.

Gàlo

Inspired by the melodic driving beats of Afro & Latin electronic music, Gàlo’s appreciation for the fusing of musical throughlines and motifs developed first as a Capoeirista, experiencing the elevated embodiment and exchange of musicality and ritual rhythms. Gàlo plays to explore, motivate and ignite the adventure of dance with soundscapes characterised by the crisp uplifting tones, melodic vigor & rhythmic lyrics from Latin American & Southern African Afro House/Tech pioneers.
