ABOUT
The Commons Fest is a celebration of art, love of community and good vibes. It is an annual cultural affair where we bring together South Africa's best in poetry, film making, music, and fine dinning. This edition is our 4th year anniversary, our 4th birthday as a cultural institution and our 4th year sustaining and holding space for all them diverse creative expressions that make up the cultural fabric of this colorful nation, South Africa.
Our line-up of artist this year have been carefully curated and we are so eager to share and celebrate with you again.
Ten awesome days of soul enriching and body moving creative offerings that features an eclectic group of artists whose work are celebrated both locally and beyond.
Tuesday 7th. 8-9:30pm : Poetry listening session/facilitated discursion/Q &A on Koleka Putuma's Poetic Album "Can I Get A Witness" (Free to attend)
Wednesday 8th. 8-9:30pm : Film Night. (Free to attend)
Thursday 9th. 8pm: Live music performance by Darren English project
Friday 10th. 8-9:30pm: Solos Night Featuring Laurie Levin and Sibusile Xaba
Saturday 11th. 7-12midnight: Live music Performances and Vinyl DJ set Featuring: Asher Gamedze, Abraham Mennen & DJ Simbad.
Sunday 12th. 7-9:30pm: Live music performances by Reza Khota Project and The Super Catz.
Wednesday 15th. From 7pm: Fine dinning experience/Wine tasting/Live music performance (PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT INCLUDED AND WILL BE CHARGED SEPERATELY)
Thursday 16th. 8pm: Live music performance by Linda Sikhakhane
Friday 17th. 8pm: Live music performances by James McClure and Hassan Adas
Saturday 18th. Thrift market from 11am-4pm (free to attend)
Live music performance featuring The Coasters,7-8pm, DJ collective featuring Hoku Hoku, 9pm-late.
