The NRF|SAAO invites you for a private day tour.

During the day tour, the guests are given a historical site tour that includes a visit to our main building which is one of the oldest formal buildings in Cape Town, a tour of the grounds, a visit to some of the telescope domes on site, including our main dome; the McClean telescope which is over 120 yrs old, a visit of our Museum, then concludes at our newly opened visitor's center, and weather permitting, the guests are also treated to sun gazing/spotting from 2 different telescopes.

Tour fees/Donations go towards the SAAO’s education, public outreach, and socio-economic development programs. Tour bookings must be paid in advance – no payments will be accepted on-site.

This is a secure site and all other buildings are off-limits to the public.
