ABOUT

An evening of Amazon adventure from National Geographic photographer Thomas Peschak, joined by scientists, explorers and storytellers.

Join the Save Our Seas Foundation for an evening storytelling, science, and adventure, and journey from the depths of the Cape seaforests to the heart of the Amazon River. National Geographic photographer Thomas Peschak will share insights from his 25-year journey documenting Earth’s coastlines. From the depths of the Cape’s kelp forests to 396 days navigating the heart of the Amazon River, Thomas offers a breathtaking glimpse into some of the planet’s wildest ecosystems, capturing their beauty and the urgent need for their conservation. Dr Jannes Landschoff from Sea Change will introduce the “1001 Seaforest Species”; a project that is documenting a thousand unique species in the Great African Seaforest. A panel discussion gathers local ocean storytellers whose advocacy has found an international audience and features Thomas Peschak, Pippa Ehrlich, Shamier Magmoet, Rodger Horrocks, Otto Whitehead, and MC, Steve Benjamin. All proceeds will go to the Shark Spotters Graduate Program.

Don’t miss this powerful celebration of nature and the call to protect it.
