Join the Irish South African Association for our annual St. Brigid's Day event, a celebration of remarkable women. This year, we proudly showcase the talent, creativity, achievements, and contributions of extraordinary individuals, creating a vibrant space for inspiration and connection.


St. Brigid's Day is an opportunity to celebrate the bridges between Irish and South African communities, honoring the legacy of women who shape our world through art, innovation, and collaboration.


Don’t miss this special evening filled with creativity, culture, and community spirit. The event will feature a blend of art, storytelling, and connection, celebrating the power of women to inspire and unite across cultures.


WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Welcome Drink: Kick off the evening with a complimentary drink on arrival, enjoy a delicious Tullamore DEW based cocktail prepared by the innovative bar team at Room 91.
  • CANAPES: BY CHEFS WAREHOUSE & CANTEEN.
  • Keynote Speaker: A trailblazer, Cathy O’Clery, in contemporary African design, Cathy is the Creative Director of Platform Creative Agency and the AAFRICAA store. Known for leading iconic projects like the V&A Waterfront's Joy From Africa campaign and Zeitz MOCAA shops, she is a curator, writer, and strategist with expertise in curation, exhibition design, and storytelling. Her work, featured in World of Interiors, Elle Decoration, and The Irish Times, reflects her unparalleled insight into African design and innovation.
  • Showcasing & In Conversation: Meet the women shaping and contributing to the creative landscape, including Mathapelo Ngaka-Mtati (Monkey Biz), Bonolo Chepape (LULASCLAN), and JulES MAcKenzie (Emerald & Clay).
  • Wine Showcase & Special: Discover Black Pearl Wines, a hidden gem on a road less traveled. Crafted by Mary-Lou Nash, the owner, winemaker, viticulturist, and “Jill of all trades,” these exceptional wines will be showcased and available as a special on the night.
  • Live Music: Enjoy a captivating performance by a melodic storyteller, Deslynn Malotana, bringing soulful tunes to the evening.
