KAYA Café x Up the Creek Presents:

Up the Creek is one of South Africa's longest-running and most iconic music festivals. Famed for it's iconic River Stage's iconic floaties, it's massive lineup of more than 50 local bands, and for its longstanding reputation of putting on some of South Africa's most exciting fresh live acts. In 2024 and again in 2025, the KAYA Café is hugely honoured to be presenting the Food Court Stage's lineup, filled with incredible performers that have graced our Friday Night Live stage over the course of the year.

Friday Night Live is a series of beautiful, intimate performances from some of the most exciting talent Cape Town and South Africa has to offer, hosted at the KAYA Café. Friday Night Live is an event for performers to take in their own direction, creating an environment for audiences to engage deeply with the music, the meaning, and the people behind it all!

Before we head up to Up the Creek in early February, we wanted to showcase a taste of the incredible lineup we've got planned with an FNL x UTC countdown show! On this night we'll have not one, not two, but three incredible live acts gracing the stage! Featuring Teagan's power vocals & incredible band arrangements, Hlombekazi's soul & jazzy rhythms, and the Cinematic Rejects' undeniable brand of shameless rock & roll, this lineup is going to be nothing but hits hits hits all night long.
